I Might Be a Feminist, But… an International Women’s Day celebration - a success!

The third annual International Women’s Day celebration here in Ottawa, I Might Be a Feminist, But…, celebrated the successes of Ottawa area women, discussed the need for continued work in women’s issues, and was a great excuse for a great party!

On March 8th, PPO joined other local, national, and international organizations focused on women’s issues for an evening of recognition with Femmy Awards, humour a parody entitled “Canada’s Next Top Feminist” and a great party to celebrate.

PPO has been part of the organizing committee since the event’s inception three years ago and was thrilled to join this committee of strong women to celebrate International Women’s Day!

PPO was well represented both in the performances, with Nadine Thornhill joining the parody troupe, and behind the scenes. Many thanks to our volunteers (Leanne, Onessa, Christina and Lindsay) and members who supported the event through their donations, time, and energy. Mark your calendars for next year, but celebrate the women in your lives everyday!
