PPO is proud to be a part of “I Might be a Feminist, But…”. This year’s gathering is the third annual International Women’s Day event hosted by community organizations in Ottawa. Come party like it’s 1911 in recognition of the centenary year of International Women’s Day!
The event is taking place on March 8th, 2011 from 7-10 p.m. at the National Archives of Canada. This is a free, fun event that aims to engage the community in a dialogue on feminism and feminist issues through a variety of means (including the “Canada’s Next Top Feminist” parody and a short film created for the event), strengthening relationships between individuals and organizations by providing tabling space, engaging young feminists through an art contest, and celebrating our achievements through the presentation of the “Femmy” awards. It’s a great night of food, music, conversation and a wonderful celebration of women!
The evening includes:
- Parody performance of "Canada's Next Top Feminist"
- The Femmy Awards (see here!)
- A short (and awesome) film
-Mingling, cash bar, snacks and fun!
Free entry! (Donations happily accepted!)
Date: March 8; 6-10pm
Location: National Archives; 395 Wellington
