SAP is Running!




A 24-hour educational program on sexual and reproductive health is being offered by Planned Parenthood Ottawa (PPO) this Fall! The focus of this 4-Saturday training is practical information and community resources related to the following topics:

Attitudes & Values, Anatomy, Healthy Sexuality, Sexuality throughout the Lifecycle, Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV/AIDS, Safer Sex & Contraception, Sexual Rights, Sexual Violence, Sexual Orientation, Pregnancy Options, Anti-Oppression, Sex Positivity, and more. (See more information.)

This program is offered to individuals who would like to volunteer with PPO (if accepted after the application process), or anyone interested in sexual and reproductive health issues. We are currently looking to recruit Community Education volunteers, who offer a range of speaks offered to increase the knowledge of sexual and reproductive health in creative, fun, and non-threatening and ways to children, youth and adults. Volunteer commitment is 1 year following the completion of SAP. We are also seeking individuals who are interested in taking this program as professional development.

Volunteer          $150* (cheque deposit) and 1 year commitment to Planned Parenthood Ottawa (average of 5 hours per month)
Professional     $300
Student              $150

Dates: Next course begins October 16th, 2010 and runs for 4 consecutive Saturdays (10am-4pm).
*Volunteers are also required to attend an Orientation & Values evening, October 6th, 2010 (6-9:30pm)
