Insight Theatre summer training begins!

Insight Theatre's summer training is almost here!  This 5-week program combines drama training with theatre professionals with sexual health training from some of Ottawa’s top community educators.

Participants will:
  • gain public speaking skills
  • learn how to comfortably answer questions on a variety of subjects
  • develop creative writing skills by creating the 2010-2011 performance
  • gain self-confidence in speaking about your own needs and wants- in relationships and beyond!

Topics covered include:
  • contraception (condoms, "the pill", abstinence and more)
  • sexually transmitted infections
  • healthy relationships
  • pregnancy options-- abortion, adoption and parenting
  • gay, lesbian and transgender (and more!) awareness

Participation in summer training is free and students will earn time towards their high school community service hours.  Members of the 2010-2011 Insight Theatre performance troupe will be chosen from our summer trainees.

If you’d like to be part of this exciting program, please join us for our first session at Jack Purcell Community Centre , Monday July 19th at 5:30 p.m.
