As many of you are aware, Planned Parenthood Ottawa's Executive Director, Heather Holland, has been enjoying her new family while on maternity leave. Recently, Heather decided that she will not be returning from her leave to the position of Executive Director, but will remain engaged with PPO as an ardent supporter and volunteer. In her years with us, Heather has made an enormous contribution to PPO and to bettering sexual health services in Ottawa. We benefited immensely from Heather’s leadership and collegial approach. We will miss her greatly, but know that she won’t be far away.
During Heather’s recent maternity leave, Rachel Horsley took the role of interim Executive Director. The board is pleased that Rachel has accepted this position permanently and confident that her leadership is right for PPO as we continue to move through transformative times.
Rachel will continue to bring to PPO her rich knowledge of sexual health, deep community links and the vision to drive our organization forward. In her short time with us, Rachel has already increased PPO’s fundraising capacity, and deepened partnerships with the community. Together with the Board, Rachel is leading the development of our 2013 strategic plan. We look forward to working closely with Rachel over the coming years, as she implements this exciting and innovative plan.
Please join me in welcoming Rachel to our team permanently. Do stop by the office, or pick up the phone to congratulate Rachel.
