2012 is off to a great start for PPO!
We’ve got an amazing new placement student, Alexandra Sevigny, who is a B.S.W. student at Carleton University. Alex has a lot of work and volunteer experience in social services, and has got a very motivated personality. We’re so happy that she has joined us for the semester, along with her support dog-in-training, Coda!
The Masters of Social Work students who have been partnering with PPO to promote their Youth Sexual Health Survey are fantastic, and are perhaps getting more out of this process than they had bargained for. Joined by Heather, one of the MSW students on the team chatted with CBC’s All In A Day host Alan Neal on January 12th to talk about the survey. If you haven’t already heard about it, we’re hoping to learn more about how youth in Ottawa access sexual health services, to continue to develop PPO’s programming. The survey can be found here (survey)
– and if you’re not between the ages of 16-24, please feel free to pass it along to someone you know!
We are looking forward to several big events in the coming months: Sexapalooza (Feb 10-12), International Women’s Day (Mar 8), a burlesque show planned for March (stay tuned for details!), and we’re particularly looking forward to the Insight Theatre 30th Anniversary party happening at the beginning of June!
We’re looking forward to seeing many of you throughout 2012—we’re keen to catch up with all of you!
Heather (Executive Director) and Jocelyn (Board President)
