Heather's December Update: Ends and Beginnings

Many thanks to outgoing Board President Kate Verhoeven and a warm welcome to Jocelyn Wentland in her new role as incoming Board President!

Kate has held a leadership role within PPO since filling the Board President position in January 2010. Kate is stepping down from her role as Board President because she has served in the position for two years now and her term has come to a close. Kate has made a noticeable impact on the organization during her tenure as President. She will be remaining on the board as Past President and we are all grateful that she will continue to make a meaningful contribution to the work of the board and of the organization.

Jocelyn Wentland is a 4th year PhD student at the University of Ottawa in the School of Psychology specializing in sexuality. Her research background includes women’s health and sexuality, negotiation of casual sex relationships, dating scripts, erotic photography, and adolescent sexuality. Jocelyn was a clinic volunteer at Options for Sexual Health in Vancouver for 2 years before moving to Ottawa for school.  Jocelyn has been a general director on the PPO board since December 2010. Jocelyn is well-suited for the position of Board President and will be playing a key role in further advancing PPO’s work.

Many thanks to all of you—board, staff, volunteers, community partners, donors, and supporters—for your part in making 2011 a success!

Warm wishes for the holidays and the New Year,

Heather (Executive Director)
