Good food, great reads, and successful fundraisers for PPO!

PPO has had the support of volunteers and community members throughout its history, and this summer has been supported financially through two very successful fundraisers.

The GET TO KNOW PPO dinner and silent auction, organized and hosted by a group of Social Service Worker students from Algonquin College on June 26th was a great success, with money raised through dinner ticket sales and an incredible silent auction. The event at Tucker’s Marketplace saw over 50 people get together, enjoy a delicious dinner, and bid on items, all in support of PPO!

Two weeks later, PPO volunteer extraordinaire Melanie hosted BOOK & BAKE SALE in support of PPO and the Community Education program! Hundreds of books were donated to the event from PPO volunteers and friends, and the sunny day resulted in a very successful event!

Many thanks to all those who donated their time, those who donated items for the silent auction, and those who came out to enjoy and support these events. Special thanks to the SSW students from Algonquin (Leanne, Ferial and Vivian) and to Melanie for all of their hard work and effort – it is SO appreciated and we are so excited about the results! Thank you!
