I Want to Become a Volunteer!

Planned Parenthood Ottawa (PPO) is a volunteer-based organization whose work is carried out through the phenomenal enthusiasm, dedication, and passion of our volunteers. We strive to make PPO a safe and inclusive space for everyone and we welcome and celebrate diversity.

If you are committed to a pro-choice, rainbow-positive, sex-positive, and non-judgmental philosophy you will enjoy volunteering with us. We will give you the opportunity to learn about sexual & reproductive health, participate in our numerous programs, be active in the community, and meet a fantastic group of volunteers and staff who are committed to making healthy sexuality a reality to everyone in the Ottawa community!

Amazing volunteers contribute to all levels of PPO's work, including: sexual health counselling, sexual health  workshops and kiosks, special event management, condom distribution, communications, office support, email and telephone support and referrals, fundraising, etc.

All volunteers begin by taking our Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) training, which is a four day 24-hour training course. More specialized training sessions, focusing on either our Community Education or Options Counselling programs, will run later in the year and are open to interested volunteers who have already completed our Sexual and Reproductive Health Training.

Our next SRH training will take place in Spring 2016 on the following days:

Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday, May 7th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday, May 14th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday, May 21st from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Interested in joining the training? Fill out our volunteer application form. Jessa, our Training Coordinator, will review your application and contact you to arrange a short interview.
